Supporting ConocoPhillips in building a low code strategy
Enterprise scale ambition for low code needed strategy, governance, and skills, not just tools. We defined the framework, stood up a CoE, and trained teams with pilots that proved value.
Introduction
ConocoPhillips sought to accelerate digital innovation by adopting low code platforms. However, they needed a clear strategy, governance model, and internal capabilities to scale low code effectively across the organization.
Outcome
We helped establish a structured low code practice and strategy, enabling teams to build applications faster while maintaining governance and quality. This resulted in increased development speed, reduced dependency on traditional IT pipelines, and stronger alignment between business and technology teams.
What we did
We began by defining a low code strategy framework, including platform selection, governance guidelines, and use case prioritization. We worked with both IT and business stakeholders to identify high impact opportunities where low code could deliver immediate value.
Next, we established a Center of Excellence (CoE) to provide standards, templates, and best practices. This included defining development guidelines, security controls, and lifecycle management processes.
We also delivered hands on training and enablement, empowering internal teams to build and maintain applications independently. Pilot projects were launched to demonstrate value quickly and build momentum across the organization.
Why it worked
The success of this initiative was driven by a balance between innovation and governance. By providing a clear framework and empowering teams, we enabled rapid development without sacrificing control or quality. This created a sustainable low code ecosystem that continues to deliver value across the organization.
